We provide a productized 1:1 advisory engagement called the AI Tools Assessment, along with related content (newsletter, website at thesmartoperator.co). By using our website or purchasing the AI Tools Assessment, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

• Purchase information: Name, email address, and business details you provide when booking the AI Tools Assessment.
• Payment information: Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers.
• Newsletter subscription: Email address when you subscribe to The Smart Operator newsletter.
• Discovery call recordings and notes: The 45-minute discovery call is recorded so we can build your custom report. Recordings and notes are stored privately and used only to deliver the engagement.
• Communications: Information you provide when you email us or contact us through the site.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited and basic interactions, collected via privacy-friendly analytics (Fathom Analytics — no cross-site tracking, no personal profiles).
• Device information: Browser type, operating system, and approximate location at the country level.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver the AI Tools Assessment, including scheduling, running the discovery and walkthrough calls, and producing your custom report.
• Process payments and issue refunds when applicable.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, scheduling reminders, report delivery).

5. Data retention

We retain client information (intake, recordings, reports) for as long as needed to deliver and support the engagement, and then for a reasonable period to honor the 30-day refund guarantee and for tax and accounting requirements. Newsletter subscriber data is kept until you unsubscribe.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access & correction: Email us to access or correct information we hold about you.
• Deletion: Email us to request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
• Unsubscribe: Use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email to opt out at any time.

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
